This is the main page of the summer school and workshopTame geometry: A tribute to René Thom and Stanisław ŁojasiewiczCHAMBÉRY, FRANCE, 6-18 JUNE 2005 Organizing Committee Scientific Committee: During the end of the year 2002, René Thom and Stanisław Łojasiewicz passed away. These two mathematicians left a great legacy to real geometry: their work initiated some of the main issues which led to the development of what is now known as "Tame Geometry". Most striking examples may be the rewriting of subanalytic geometry or the systematic development of transversality and stratification theory for the study of singularities. The 10-days summer school will offer mini-courses on subjects in which R. Thom and S. Łojasiewicz were involved: stratifications, foliations, geometric th eory of analytic functions and gradients of tame functions. The workshop will be devoted to more recent aspects of the questions and problems discussed during the courses. The summer school is particularly dedicated to young researchers of the Network RAAG but young researchers from outside of the network are also warmly welcome.
